Not all heroes wear capes.

Heroes wear yellow,
Even on the coldest winter day.
They wear it like a comfort blanket,
Because yellow looks like the sun
And the sun tends to make people happy.

Heroes wear green,
Even when the trees have lost all of their leaves.
They wear it with hope,
Because green is Nature
and Nature always finds a way to bloom.

Heroes wear orange,
Even when the sky is full of clouds.
They wear it with a smile,
Because orange is fire
And fire fuels ambition.

Heroes wear purple,
Even when it looks an awful lot like bruises.
They wear it with a certain sense of duty,
Because purple is power
and power is the first step towards Justice.

Heroes wear blue,
Even on occasions it is more of a feeling than a colour.
They wear it without restrictions,
Because blue is the ocean
and the ocean runs free.

Heroes wear red,
Even on the days getting out of bed seems impossible.
They wear it with determination,
Because red is courage
and courage is what eventually gets us out of bed.

Heroes wear black,
Even when they're not sad.
They wear it with confidence,
Because black is strength
and strength is a super power.

Heroes wear white,
Even when they might get dirty.
They wear it to reflect their light
Because white means new beginnings
and new beginnings often lead to happiness;

Heroes wear gold,
Even when the world wants to dim how bright they shine.
They wear it with extreme pride
Because gold is the colour of their soul,
and their soul is what truly makes them heroes.


Here's to the friends who paint your life with their brightest colours.
And to being kind because I wrote this quite some time ago, it's very different to what I usually write and I'm nervous.
